Around the country for only $100

This is just beyond the point of ridiculous now. On June 10th, I ordered five items from Walmart online. One of those items was a futon style sofa that I'm going to be placing in our 2nd bedroom. I'm converting that room into a computer/studying/reading/relaxing room for my husband and I. According to my receipt, though the sofa was being shipped from California via a freight carrier called CEVA, my sofa was to arrive on my doorstep between June 18th and June 24th.

It's still not here and it is now June 29th.

Here is the journey my sofa has taken:

June 16th - LAX Airport

June 20th - It finally leaves LAX airport and heads over to O'hare.

June 21st - Leaves O'hare and arrives on Dallas Fortworth (DFW).

June 24th - Leave DFW and arrive at O'hare - again

June 26th - Leave O'hare and arrive at MLI (Moline)

Where it is still sitting.

I've been more than patient as my sofa sees areas of the country I have never seen. It's cost my sofa $100.00 for its trip. Wish I could travel for that long to all those places for a hundred bucks.

My sofa has spent more time sitting in airports than it has actually traveling. I wonder if they realize they could have just flew it from LAX to O'hare in 3 hours (give or take), then loaded it onto a UPS truck or FED Ex, then drove it from Chicago to my door in 4 hours. Giving time for laziness -- they could have had this thing shipped and delivered over a 2 -3 day period - at most. Instead, they felt the need to show my sofa the sights.

It's time for a phone call. I'm really ticked.

As of July 6th, it finally arrived. I'm still going to write to their corporate offices and point out just how much of a rip off this shipping arrangement was and demand my shipping charges be reimbursed.
